[origin: DE19950751A1] A head part (9) at the sleeve end (4) furthest from the water is sealed in place and has a center hole (10) coaxial to the center hole (11) of the sleeve so the two holes together sealably pack the log transmitter (12) into place. The two holes can be closed off by a shutoff slide (21) depending on the positions of the transmitter. The head (9) is joined to the sleeve by a threaded ring (9a) and is recessed coaxially with the center hole (10) to seal in an axially sprung slide ring which together with a flat ring (17) carrying a sealing ring limit the shutoff slide above and below. The slide ring can be moved towards the ring (17) and the O-ring supporting the slide ring so as to keep the parting plane closed in conjunction with the ring (17). The slide ring is moved so as to free the slide plane in response to an opposing force acting on the slide ring.
