[origin: DE19859774A1] The invention relates to an aqueous liquid multi-phase surface-active cleaning agent with at least two continuous phases which contains at least one lower aqueous phase I and one non-aqueous liquid upper phase II which is immiscible with said aqueous phase and which can be temporarily converted to an emulsion by shaking and contains citric acid and/or at least one citrate. Said cleaning agent can be used to clean hard surfaces and it is prepared directly from its starting materials by mixing them, then thoroughly agitating the mixture and leaving it to stand so that the temporary emulsion dissolves. Citric acid and/or at least one citrate is used in an aqueous liquid multi-phase surface-active cleaning agent with at least two continuous phases which comprises at least one lower aqueous phase I and one upper aqueous phase II which is immiscible with said lower phase and which can be temporarily converted to an emulsion by shaking. The invention also relates to a method of producing such a cleaning agent.
