Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19901145A1] Infrared radiators designed as surface radiators are already known per se. Said infrared radiators are provided with a radiating body (15) which is heated at the rear by a combustible fluid-air mixture and which has a front side that emits infrared radiation. According to the invention, the radiating body (15) contains numerous ducts (20) which are used as cavity radiators. The ratio of the wall surface to the cross-section surface in the flame-free area of said ducts is greater than 10, preferably greater than/equal to 20.
