Abstract (en)

[origin: FR2787619A1] An optical recording support, includes a very thin metallic film (20) having reduced reflectivity after optical irradiation. An optical recording support consists of a substrate bearing a layer stack including a less than 30 nm thick metallic layer (20), which has a reflectivity of more than 65% before optical irradiation and of less than 35% after optical irradiation, and one or more transparent layers (21, 22). Independent claims are also included for the following: (i) a recordable optical disk (CD-R) comprising the above support; (ii) a recordable digital versatile disk (DVD-R) comprising the above support; (iii) a write once read many (WORM) optical disk comprising the above support; and (iv) a process for producing the above support by cathodic sputtering. Preferred Features: The very thin metallic film consists of aluminum, titanium, zirconium, tungsten, molybdenum, hafnium or their alloys.
