Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19900461A1] Known transport devices for transport containers of wafers (so-called carriers) and the like had the disadvantage that with only one drive roller only a non-uniform progression of the transport container was achieved. To overcome this problem, the invention provides a transport device in which two drive rollers (7, 9) are coupled with and face one another. Both drive rollers exert a uniform driving force on the webs of a container (4) so that said container is transported linearly and without jolts. The invention thus relates to a transport device for containers (4) with at least two parallel webs that comprise at least two parallel rows of castors (5, 6) on which the webs can run. The inventive transport device is characterized by at least one group of drive rollers (7, 9) for transmitting a driving force to the webs. Said group of drive rollers comprises one primary drive roller (7) and at least one secondary drive roller (9). The drive rollers (7, 9) are integrated into one row of castors (5, 6) and the primary drive roller (7) can be or is driven by a motor (8). The drive rollers (7, 9) of the at least one group of drive rollers (7, 9) are coupled with one another in such a manner that the primary drive roller (7) drives or can drive the at least one secondary drive roller (9).
