Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0041416A1] A problem in the mobile communications field is that enhanced voice services such as envisaged by the WAP Forum for mobile users of wireless networks would require use of two bearer services to deliver said services. This is inefficient and potentially more costly to the user and network operator. The problem is solved by use of a voice over IP technology and with digitising and packetizing of voice data and control data and transmission of the discrete packets over a single circuit-switched connection using IP based data communication to provide both the IP Voice connection and associated control for enhanced voice services.
