[origin: EP1142655A2] The press tool has a lifting cylinder arrangement with a forked connecting part (7), a replaceable press jaws (51) fixed in the connecting part by bolts and a drive motor (6) for actuating a piston rod as an actuating element to move at least one press jaw (51a,51b). A presence sensor (52) for the press jaws provides a signal with which the start of a press process is initiated or interrupted if a missing or faulty press jaws is detected. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of using a press tool and a method pressing sleeve-shaped fittings.
