[origin: EP1143410A2] The sound head (3) is attached to the outside wall (1) of a pipeline (2), with an open housing part containing a piezoelectric disc (5) held against a planar surface (9) of the pipeline wall via a pressure device (10). The planar surface is enclosed by a peripheral groove (21) formed in the pipeline outside wall, having a depth which is a whole multiple of the half wavelength of the sound waves provided by the sound head.
