Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0136160A2] The invention relates to a consumable rotating disc for finishing material surfaces. A material finishing layer is fixed using binding means to a bearing surface on a front face of a disc-shaped base body which is used with the rotating disc. The base body consists of an injection-moulded material and has a central hub (6) for receiving a drive shaft of the rotating disc, the bearing surface is provided in an annular zone around the hub (6) and a first ring-shaped cross-sectional zone of the base body, which lies radially further towards the centre than the bearing surface, is configured as a first ribbed profile (30a, 30b, 32) with intersecting ribs and openings therebetween. According to the invention, a second, ring-shaped cross-sectional zone of the base body (4), which is located on the rear side of the bearing surface is configured as a second ribbed profile (30b, 30c, 30d, 32) with intersecting ribs and openings therebetween.
