[origin: DE19860135A1] The invention relates to a method for producing a surface having ultraphobic properties. According to the inventive method, an essentially smooth surface comprised of tungsten carbide is structured by means of laser ablation, whereby recesses are formed which, in particular, periodically recur along the surface and which have a depth ranging from 10 mu m to 500 mu m. The surface is optionally coated with a bonding agent layer and is subsequently provided with a hydrophobic or oleophobic coating.
