[origin: WO0042070A1] The present invention relates to polynucleotide and polypeptide molecules for mammalian alpha helix-12 (Zalpha12). The polypeptides, and polynucleotides encoding them, are hormonal and may be used to regulate the functioning of the immune system. The present invention also includes antibodies to the Zalpha12 polypeptides. Antagonists may be used to treat inflammation and inflammation-related diseases.
