[origin: WO0029490A2] The aim of the invention is to provide a coating for skis and snowboards as well as a coating compound for producing the coating which is suitable for use in a wide range of snow and weather conditions and easy to apply. To this end the invention provides for coatings containing polyions of at least one polyelectrolyte and, for charging the polyions, tenside ions of at least one ionic fluorinated tenside which have a charge opposite that of the polyions. The polyions and at least part of the tenside ions form complexes contained in the coating. According to the invention, the coating compound for producing the coating contains polyions of at least one polyelectrolyte and, for charging said polyions, tenside ions of at least one ionic fluorinated tenside which have a charge opposite that of the polyions. The polyions and at least part of the tenside ions form complexes contained in the coating. The compound also contains fluorinated organic solvents or organic solvents and acids or bases. The coating compounds can be obtained by precipitation of the complexes provided for in the invention, dissolution of the resulting solid in an acid or alkaline fluid and admixture of an organic solvent or in the form of a dispersion by presentation of a solution of the polyelectrolyte in a suitable alcohol and gradual addition of a well homogenized solution of the fluorinated tenside or the fluorinated tensides in alcoholic solution while mixing vigorously.
