[origin: DE19951369A1] The invention relates to a fan (10) comprising an electromotor (52). A radial blower wheel (30) is mounted on the motor shaft (40) of the electromotor. The fan housing (14) is provided with an inlet (24) in a wall (20) on the front face. Air is suctioned into the inlet. A sound absorber (12) joins the inlet. The housing (16) of the sound absorber is fixed to the housing (14) of the fan by means of fixing elements. A mutual front wall (20) is provided between the housing (16) and the housing (14) of the fan. According to the invention, the housing (16) of the sound absorber (12) forms the front wall (20) of the housing (14) pertaining to the fan and defines the chamber (28) for the blower wheel (30).
