Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0057339A2] This invention includes systems and methods for the networked distribution and personalized presentation of computerized patient record ("CPR") information. In particular, the invention includes networked computer systems structured into third-tier systems, on which reside data server-objects, second tier systems, on which reside business-server objects, and first-tier systems, on which reside object-oriented user interface applications. The business-server objects read data from the data-objects, personalize and format the data, and present it to the user interface application. Data personalization and formatting follows recommendations returned from rules modules processed by a rules engine using data from a personalization database. The rules modules advantageously centralize the rules, instead of leaving the rules distributed and embedded throughout the application logic. Additionally, decision support services can be integrated into the system by the addition of necessary rules modules to the system knowledge base.
