[origin: EP1145676A1] The device has an air feed channel with a rear roller, a rotary/tilting joint and an angled tube rotatably held in the channel. A suction head has a transverse suction mouth extending essentially over the entire length of the head. The head is movably connected to the channel by a further tilting joint or a suction mouthpiece is mounted in the head so as to tilt. The inlet flow cross-section of the mouth is less than 5000 square mm. The device has an air feed channel (1) with a running roller (2) on the rear end, a rotary/tilting joint (3) consisting of a pivotable support set into the air feed channel and an angled tube rotatably held in the channel. A suction head (4) has a suction mouth (7) bounded by fiber lifters and suction mouth edges extending transversely to the suction direction essentially over the entire length of the head. Either the head is movably connected to the air feed channel by a further tilting joint or a suction mouthpiece is mounted in the head so as to tilt. The floor side inlet flow cross-section of the suction mouth, whose periphery is greater than 530 mm., is less than 5000 square mm.
