[origin: EP1145680A1] The valve assembly, fitted over an aperture (2) in the wall (1) of a dishwasher cabinet, has two outlets (4, 6), each with a shutter (5, 7) that is resistant to water vapour. The first shutter (5) opens outwards only to release air in the event of over-pressure, while the second (7) opens inwards to let air in if the pressure drops too low. The second aperture (6) is made in the first shutter, which also supports the second shutter, and each shutter is in the form of a flap hinged on a pivot (51, 71) so it can move in one direction only.
