Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1146152A1] The support disk (14), to support the rotor of an open-end spinner, has a disk body (5) with a cladding (143) of rubber around its circumference. The disk to support the shaft of a rotor at an open-end spinner has a cladding (143) which is generally of nitrile rubber (NBR) or H-NBR. The rubber cladding has a shear strength of at least 28 N/mm<2> and has a hardness of 85-105 Shore A or 45-70 Shore D. The rubber has an elasticity of at least 29%. The rubber cladding (143) has one or more grooves (30) around the circumference, which extend to the base body (5) of the disk, to cool the rubber cladding (143). The rubber cladding (143) has a thickness of ≤ 4 mm or ≤ 1.9 times the deepest groove (30). The rubber cladding (143) has at least one and preferably two cleaning grooves around the circumference. The rubber of the cladding (143) has an electrical resistance of ≤ 1.0 x 10<9> ohm, and has an additive to bring the electrical resistance below this level. After fitting the rubber cladding (143), the disk body (5) surface is treated, and especially anodized. The spinning rotor support disk (14) has an outer diameter of 50-80 mm. The contact surface between the rubber cladding (143) and the spinning rotor shaft has a width of 4-12 mm and the cladding (143) has a minimum width of 2 mm.
