The silencer has an outer casing (2) with upper and lower half shells, an inner shell (5) and an inner exhaust gas guide through a sound absorber. The exhaust gas guide has at least one first curved outlet pipe (9), which has a first curved section and is connected at a straight exit end (27) to the outer casing. A second curved exit pipe (10) has a second curved section on top of the first curved section of the first exit pipe. An Independent claim is included for a method to manufacture the exhaust silencer

Bei einem Abgas-Schalldämpfer (1) in Mehrkammerbauweise, insbesondere Abgas-Schalldämpfer eines Personenkraftfahrzeuges, mit einem Außengehäuse (2) bestehend aus einer oberen und einer unteren Halbschale (3, 4), einer Innenschale (5) sowie einer inneren Abgasführung durch den Abgas-Schalldämpfer, wird vorgeschlagen, die Abgasführung mit zumindest einem ersten gekrümmten Auslaufrohr (9) auszubilden, das einen ersten Krümmungsabschnitt aufweist und dessen vorzugsweise geradliniges Austrittsende (27) bündig mit dem Außengehäuse (2) verläuft. Der Abgas-Schalldämpfer (1) weist insbesondere eine Innenschale auf, die partiell in einen abgewinkelten Umfangsfalz (900) des Abgas-Schalldämpfers (1) eingeklemmt ist. <IMAGE>
