[origin: EP1146209A2] The ventilator drive is supported in the centre (3) of a rear wall of a box-shaped cooling unit (1) having a ventilator and several coolers. The ventilator drive has a driven pulley (9), which is connected to a pulley (10) of the vehicle engine by a V-belt (11). The rear wall has support bars (12-14), which meet in the centre. A support (15) outside the centre is connected to the rear wall, at the rotation point (16) of a clamp lever (17) that supports a clamp roller (18). The pulleys and the clamp roller are arranged in front of or in the plane containing the rear edge of the coolers or the rearmost cooler.
