Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1147859A2] A crimping tool for clamping plastic pipes onto fittings has a pliers type of design with two parts (6, 7) of the crimping jaws linked to the two handles. One handle is split into two sections (8, 9) to provide a close spaced grip with the front section and a power grip for the rear section. When working in confined spaces the jointed grip is set into an angle to bring the ends of the handles closer together. A sliding control (27) is pressed to enable the handle to be bent.
