The folded products (20a,20b) especially folded sheets are conveyed, suspended, with their spines (32) upwards on a conveyor (10) belonging to the collector-stitcher which has a unit (24) for applying glue to the spines of the suspended folded products. The glue-applicator head has a control controlling the quantity of glue applied and or the time of glue-application. The glue-application unit is directly before the unit (26) for placing the cover (22) onto the collector chain.
