[origin: FR2806935A1] Decorating an article includes irradiating a surface of the article using a laser beam so it cannot be subsequently metallized and then applying a metallized layer to an opposite surface of the article. The opposite surface includes at least part of a decorative motif. An Independent claim is included for the following: (a) An decorated article made as above Preferred Features: The laser is of the carbon dioxide, YAG or excimer type.

La présente demande concerne un procédé pour la réalisation d'un motif de décoration (6) sur un article (1) formé à partir d'un support (2) réalisé en un matériau thermoplastique, ledit procédé consistant à métalliser tout ou partie du support (2) par galvanoplastie, de manière à former un revêtement métallique (10, 11, 12) délimitant ledit motif de décoration (6), la surface thermoplastique correspondant audit motif de décoration (6), ayant fait l'objet d'un traitement préalable de manière à ne pas être métallisable par galvanoplastie, ledit traitement préalable consistant à irradier la surface thermoplastique du support correspondant audit motif de décoration (6) au moyen d'un faisceau laser (5).
