Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1148460A2] When a lane is blocked during temporary road works a blocking sign (2) is mounted on the rear of a vehicle. In addition a sensor (3), e.g. a laser sensor, is used to determine the approach of an oncoming vehicle (5). The vehicle acceleration and distance of approach are determined and fuzzy logic used to determine the probability that the vehicle will impact the road works. If necessary a warning (6) is sounded.
