[origin: EP1149565A2] The operating table accessory for veterinary medical use involves a retainer (14) releasably fixed to the operating table (12) and holding at least one operation support (16) for an animal being treated. The operation support is pivotable in relation to the retainer and can be secured in its pivot position. With the retainer fixed to the operating table, the pivot axis of the operation support runs at least virtually horizontally and is displaceable in relation to the retainer. The operation support can be pivoted through an angle range of approximately 180 degrees. The operation support is formed as a trough enclosing an obtuse angle, which with its edge forming its vertex runs crossways to the pivot axis.
