Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1149940A2] The apparatus to hold and secure at least one yarn section at a spinning or twisting machine has a stationary clamping surface (2,3), and a moving clamping surface (4,5) as a clamping plate. Its length matches the length of yarn to be stored and fixed, and locks the yarn twist. The yarn store and fixing unit has clamping surfaces with a length of at least half the yarn length to be held, with a surface length of 35-40 mm. The floating clamping plate is moved magnetically against the static clamping surface, using a permanent magnet (6) near the static clamping surface. The moving clamping surface is of a magnetic material. The static clamping surface is formed by the facing angled surfaces of a block (1) with the shape of a gable end. The moving clamping surfaces move within the gable structure. Each moving clamping surface has a shoulder (4.1,5.1) aligned to the rear, with cut-in recesses (4.2,5.2) at a gap from their ends at the transit to the clamping plates, for suspension in a longitudinal and rectangular recess (10.1) at a mounting plate (10). The moving clamping plate is sprung against the fixed clamping plate.
