Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1150014A2] A compact oil pump for an IC engine has the ring gear (2) with inner gear teeth which mesh with a freely running inner gear wheel (1) and outer gear teeth (7) which are driven by a pinion driven by the engine. The two gears have axes eccentrically offset. The end faces of the pump are closed and fitted with oil ducts. The outer drive gear extends for part of the thickness of the ring gear and does not increase the axial size of the pump.
