[origin: WO0047353A1] The invention relates to a tank for metallurgical purposes intended for transporting molten metal, said tank having a metal envelope fitted with a heat-proof lining. Two lifting lugs are disposed on the outer side opposite each other, each of which is supported by a lug shield connected to the metal envelope. The lug shield is disposed in such a way that movement in vertical and peripheral direction is limited. Means are fixed on the metal envelope for receiving the own weight of the lug shield and the tank when the latter is in vertical or tilted position.
