[origin: WO0045402A1] The inventive push-pull switch comprises an actuating mechanism (1) whose actuating tappet (3) engages with a thread (11) in the actuator (2). As a result of this feature, a pulling movement exerted on the actuator (2) is converted into a turning movement of the actuating tappet (3) so that the balls (6) mounted as catch elements in the actuating tappet (3) can be softly disengaged from a secure catch position in the ON state.
