Abstract (en)
The thermal insulation material is produced from aramide and preoxidized synthetic filaments, which are broken down to give fibers for mixing. The fibers are formed into a roving to be knitted into the insulation material. The roving material can be produced from a number of filaments, for knitting. The roving can be formed by at least four filaments, knitted on a machine for the production of laces. The roving has a thickness of N.M. 2.8-6.0. The roving is knitted using coarse needles in a gauge of 2-6.

Procédé de fabrication d'un matériau d'isolation thermique dans lequel on utilise des fils obtenus à partir d'un fil synthétique d'aramide et d'un fil synthétique préoxydé, ces fils étant craqués pour obtenir des fibres qui sont mélangées et filées, ledit procédé étant caractérisé en ce qu'on réalise, à partir de plusieurs de ces fils, une mèche, ladite mèche étant tricotée pour obtenir ledit matériau.
