Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1152080A2] The textile fabric has a ground structure (10) of yarns (12,14) or a film, with a working layer (18) carried on at least one side. The working layer on the textile fabric can be in zones. The layer is composed of solid or hollow spherical particles (22), with at least one embedded active ingredient at the particle surfaces. Hollow particles can encapsulate a fluid ingredient e.g. aloe vera as micro-capsules. The walls of the particles are of a material composition which has different resistance to the effects of the environment and especially pressure, humidity and temperature. The particle walls have different thicknesses, or the particle walls are in two layers each with a different resistance to the environmental effects. Some particles are of different diameters. The particles are held at the fabric by a bonding agent (20), or the particles surfaces are tacky for adhesion. The yarns which are at a gap from the working layer are worked into the fabric ground structure so that they project from the surface at least on one side. The working layer has a structure which has a low friction against skin, using ceramic and polymer materials. The layer can be removed by water and/or a solvent. An Independent claim is included for a fabric production process where at least part of the working layer is applied to the fabric in a liquid state, using an applicator roller. Preferred Features: The applicator roller has a pliable mantle layer, e.g. a foam structure. The applicator roller can be a rotary screen printing roller. At least part of the particles can be mixed with a carrier air, to be blown against the fabric. The particles can be mixed with a bonding agent, and the mixture is sprayed at the material.
