Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1152207A2] Armour plate for a bulletproof car has a layer (2) of steel which absorbs the energy of bullets and prevents them penetrating the plate. This layer is made from hot-rolled, abrasion-resistant austenitic manganese steel which has no decarbonised layers at the edges and is hardened by cold working.
