Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0048743A1] Apparatus for applying glue to a sheet of corrugated paper board (16) comprises a glue roll (24) for applying glue to the flute tips of a single-faced sheet (16) of corrugated paper board. An elongate frame (32) is positioned across the direction of movement (A) of the sheet (16) over the glue roll (24). Contact shoes (34) are pivotally mounted on the frame (32) and urge the sheet (16) into contact with the glue roll. An elongate rotary device comprising a shaft (46) and wheels (45) is mounted on the frame substantially parallel thereto and spaced therefrom upstream relative to the direction of movement of the sheet (16). The shaft and wheels are positioned so as to bear against the sheet for tensioning the sheet before it passes to the glue roll. The height of the shaft (46) relative to the frame (32) can be adjusted, so as to vary the amount of the sheet which is in contact with the glue roll when passing over the glue roll.
