Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0143079A1] The invention relates to a method for recognition of faults on a motor vehicle (7.1, 7.2 to 7.m), whereby characteristic operating parameters of a motor vehicle (6.1, 6.2 to 6.n) are recorded over a particular period of time, along with information which permits the identification of the characteristic operating parameters. A method with the following steps is disclosed which permits the reliably predictive recognition of faults on a motor vehicle (7.1, 7.2 to 7.m): (a) production of a characteristic operating parameter model from characteristic operating parameters, recorded before the occurrence of a particular fault in the motor vehicle (6.1; 6.2 to 6.n), said model is associated with the particular fault; (b) description of the characteristic operating parameter model in a suitable form (rules and/or mathematical functions); and (c) comparison of the characteristic operating parameters currently recorded during operation of the motor vehicle (7.1; 7.2 to 7.m) with the characteristic of the fault characteristic operating parameter model.
