Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1153581A1] The expandable vascular implant has a central deflector rod (5) made of bio-absorbable material and supported by radial arms (3). The outer diameter of the implant is defined by rods (1) which have a zigzag shape and the arms are biased towards the axis of the implant and are connected to the deflector rod by a bead (4) of absorbable polymer. After the deflector rod is completely absorbed, the implant does not exert a support force on the vessel wall.
