[origin: EP1154107A2] A system of locking catches for the drawers of a filing cabinet has each drawer fitted with a locking stub which is engaged by one of a number of pivot mounted locking jaws fitted to a support rail fixed up the inside of the cabinet housing. The support rail has a C-profile with an open slot facing outwards and with flat side flanges. Control strips are moved by the lock barrel to move lock or release the catches, with a spring (31) pressing the strip downwards into a rest position. The system is designed so that if one locking jaw is swung into the released position the other jaws are secured in the locked position, ie. only one drawer at a time can be opened.
