The light sign uses a number of light-emitting diodes (D), which are divided between a number of arrays (A), with the diodes within each array supplied from different current sources (N), so that the overall effect of the light sign is not impaired by failure of one current source. All the diodes within the same geometric position in each array can be connected in series.

Eine Konturbeleuchtung (1) besitzt als Lichtquelle eine Mehrzahl von Leuchtdioden (D), die auf eine Mehrzahl von Arrays (A) aufgeteilt sind. Die Leuchtdioden (D) auf demselben Array (A) sind aus unterschiedlichen Stromquellen (N) gespeist. Fällt eine der Stromquellen (N) im Laufe der Zeit aus, so erlischt in diesem Falle nur die entsprechende zugeordnete Leuchtdiode (D), so daß keine große Dunkelstelle innerhalb der Konturbeleuchtung (1) entsteht, die den optischen Eindruck beeinträchtigen würde. <IMAGE>
