[origin: DE19907014A1] Formulation of preformed compositions based on spray-dried polyaspartic acid (PAA) and/or spray-dried iminodisuccinates (IDS) is effected by first mixing the spray-dried compound with one or more detergent components in a solids mixer and then proceeding by agglomeration, compacting or extrusion Three alternative processes are claimed, each following on after the above solids mixing step, these being: (A) steps of (i) agglomerating the mixture using a liquid; (ii) powdering the agglomerate with a powder having a fine particle size distribution and a high specific surface; (iii) mixing with conventional powdered detergent components; and (iv) sieving-off the coarse fraction; (B) steps of (i) compacting the mixture; and (ii) comminuting to the required particle size; and (C) steps of (i) compacting using one or two screws; and (ii) extruding through a perforated plate and cutting to the required lengths.
