[origin: WO0148382A1] The invention relates to a pump body (10) used in a medical gear-pump for suction and irrigation. Said pump body comprises a pot-shaped pump housing (12) with two cylindrical openings (18, 20) that accommodate two meshing gear wheels (30, 42). The driving gear wheel (30) is housed in the opening (18) without using a journal bearing. A cover (16) closes the pot-shaped pump housing (12). The invention is characterised in that a pin (40) protrudes from a base (14) of the pump housing (12) and that the travelling gear wheel (42) is pushed onto said pin.
