[origin: WO0049310A1] The invention relates to a torsional vibration damper (1) with adjustable resonance frequency. Said damper (1) is provided with a support plate (2) which is arranged at a rotating shaft (3). A spiral spring arrangement is arranged at the support plate (2). Said arrangement is guided radially to the exterior along an inertial mass (11). The inner end (6) of the spiral spring arrangement is fixed in a clamping manner. A support is provided at the spiral spring arrangement. Said support is embodied as at least one crosshead (8) which is arranged in a radial guiding device (7) of the support plate (2). A restoring force of a readjusting spring (16) acts upon the crosshead (8) in an opposite direction in relation to the centrifugal force which results from a rotational movement. The crosshead (8) can be moved radially in the guiding device (7) under the influence of said centrifugal force and restoring force. The rpm of the restoring force can be automatically adjusted by means in such a way that the resonance frequency of the torsional vibration damper (1) can be adapted to the rpm by means of the position of the crosshead (8).
