[origin: EP1155643A2] A spring element for supporting a mattress on a support surface has a one piece plastic construction with on upper support plate (2) and a lower support plate (3) linked by knee shaped spring elements (5, 6). A rotating ring (11) around the upper support plate is fitted with cams (12, 13) which can be positioned over the spring elements to form end stops and thereby adjust the hardness of the spring element. One setting option has no cams over the spring elements for a full sprung support.
