[origin: EP1155836A1] The printing machine (1) is associated with a number of interchangeable format inserts (9,9'') which can be inserted selectively into the printer and in which the plate cylinder (2,2') is mounted with a diameter corresponding to the selected format. The supply device (16) has a number of settings corresponding to the number of inserts so that the change position can be determined for the right insert. The printer has a sensor for detecting the relevant format insert and an operating member to automatically select the right setting in response to the detection signal of the sensor.
