[origin: EP1155991A1] Compressed products are wound onto a wound core (1) as scales in a stream with a winding strap (18) that forms a spiral. A winding carpet (7) on the underside of the wound core has a first driving mechanism (A1) to turn the wound core. Kept at a preset strap tension, the winding strap is wound off of a winding strap magazine (21) with a second driving mechanism (A2). The first and second driving mechanisms each have an RPM or hodometric device (10,28). An Independent claim is included for the apparatus for producing compressed products.
