Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1156471A2] The string (1) has a tone-generating section (9) with an extended clamp section (12) fixed to at least one end, to secure the string to the musical instrument. The tone-generating section and the clamp sections are made of different materials. The tone-generating section of the string extends at least from the upper saddle part (4) to the bridge (2). The clamp sections preferably have a larger diameter than the tone-generating section.
