Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0139899A1] The invention relates to a conical sifter for sifting bulk material, which cannot be poured easily or at all and which comprises a lightweight material fraction and a heavy material fraction, and to a method for carrying out the sifting. The aim of the invention is to prevent blockages inside the inlet tube and deposits on the surfaces of the cone. To these ends, at least one filling air inlet (28) is connected to the filling tube (4) for admitting a downwardly directed flow of air inside at least one part of the filling tube (4). In addition, the invention provides that at least one displacing cone air inlet (46) is connected to the interior (44) of the displacing cone (40) and that an annular gap (48) is provided between the cylindrical spout (42) and the double cone (6). The invention also relates to a method for sifting bulk material, which cannot be poured easily or at all and which comprises a lightweight material fraction and a heavy material fraction, during which the aforementioned conical sifter is used.
