[origin: EP1157928A1] Egg boxes are advanced in steps on a rail, a tape is placed around a box and the support surface formed by the rail, and the tape ends are glued together under the rail. The underside of the rail serves as contact surface during compression of the adhesive point, and the taped box is then pushed off the rail. A tape is placed on a box, folded downwards on both box sides in a first step, in a second step, one tape half is folded under the support surface and the second adhesive-coated half is placed over the first half. The taping appliance consists of transporter with flat ribbed rail, tape dispenser, adhesive station, folding station, and compression station.
