[origin: EP1157952A2] The device transfers reels from a stack to a processing machine, using a reel carrier. The carrier (1) has grab jaws (13,26), adjustable at right angles to the core axis of a reel, and suction grabs (23), which engage on intermediate reel layers. The grab jaws are formed as clamping bars (14), pressed radially against the inner surface of a core sleeve of a reel.
