Abstract (en)
[origin: US2002003046A1] The flexible coaxial cable comprises a shield formed by at least one metal tape provided with a metal coating and wound helically around the insulated core of the cable. The shield is sealed to itself in leakproof manner by said coating which is melted so as to bond directly together the overlapping turns of a single tape or the overlapping turns of two superposed tapes by subjecting the cable provided with said shield to peripheral induction heating.

Le câble coaxial flexible comporte un écran formé par au moins un ruban métallique pourvu d'un revêtement métallique et enroulé hélicoïdalement autour de l'âme isolée du câble.Il est caractérisé en ce que ledit écran (3, 13, 13') est fermé de manière étanche sur lui-même par ledit revêtement (5, 17, 19) fondu et soudant directement les enroulements se chevauchant du seul ruban utilisé (4) ou les enroulements se recouvrant de rubans superposés (16, 18), en soumettant le câble muni dudit écran à un chauffage périphérique à induction.
