Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0053272A2] The invention relates to a method and a device for analyzing the movement patterns of the thoracolumbar section of the human vertebral column during a golf swing. The aim of the invention is to provide a suitable method of analysis and a corresponding device by means of which a golf swing can be analyzed very precisely, rapidly and economically. To this end the invention provides for a method and a device for analyzing the movement pattern of the thoracolumbar section of the vertebral column during a golf swing. Said device comprises a plurality of, for example three, measuring sensors which are positioned on the human body, preferably at the level of the vertebral column, and are preferably ultrasonic measuring sensors which during a golf swing detect movements three-dimensionally and in angular degrees per run-time measurement as well as the speed, acceleration and/or direction of movement of the measurement points on the body. The measuring sensors are coupled to a data processing device which processes the measurement values. Comparative measurement values of other subjects are stored in the data processing device. The recorded measurement values are compared with the comparative measurement values and the measurement result is displayed on a display device coupled to the data processing device in such a way that an observer is able to recognize the quality of the measured golf swing in relation to that of the golf swings of other subjects.
