Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0053338A2] The invention relates to a hot melt applicator with an applicator element that can be manually handled and that is configured to electrically heat an exchangeable adhesive container, especially for a thermofusible adhesive. Said applicator element further comprises a heater unit that is provided for transferring heat to the adhesive container, encompasses a contact surface for the heat transfer and is equipped with an electrical heater element. Said electrical heater element consists of a material of a predetermined heat capacity and a support module configured to impinge the heater element with an electric voltage when the applicator element is in the inactive holding state. Said support module is designed in such a manner that the heating element is impinged with voltage only in the holding state but not in the active state, when the applicator element is detached from the support module.
[origin: WO0053338A2] The invention relates to a hot melt applicator with an applicator element (18) that can be manually handled and that is configured to electrically heat an exchangeable adhesive container (40), especially for a thermofusible adhesive. Said applicator element further comprises a heater unit (32) that is provided for transferring heat to the adhesive container, encompasses a contact surface for the heat transfer and is equipped with an electrical heater element (52). Said electrical heater element consists of a material of a predetermined heat capacity and a support module (10) configured to impinge the heater element with an electric voltage when the applicator element is in the inactive holding state. Said support module is designed in such a manner that the heating element is impinged with voltage only in the holding state but not in the active state, when the applicator element is detached from the support module.
