[origin: WO0056027A1] A generic policy engine (GPE) uses a verifiable, Scheme-like language to generate security policies ranging from the classical, hierarchical models to modern, commercial models. The GPE provides system designers with well-known security entry points, a generic definition of "object", and a means to manipulate these objects in terms of a security policy. The centralized nature of the system allows for experimentation with different security policies rapidly and economically.
